Florida Southern College, founded
in 1883, is an excellent private liberal arts
college that embraces tradition while educating
students for the 21st century. We're accredited
by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools, the University
Senate of the United Methodist Church, the State
of Florida (teacher certification), and the
Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health
Education Programs (athletic training).
Since you are visiting Florida
Southern on the Internet, let me take you on
a virtual tour of what we have to offer.
FSC has a splendid physical
plant overlooking Lake Hollingsworth in Lakeland,
Florida. You'll see some of the most beautiful
sunrises as you begin your intellectual pursuits
each morning. The weather is warm and inviting.
The temperature is about the best anyone could
want. And, the campus climate is fresh, invigorating,
challenging and friendly. We have a 16:1 student-faculty
ratio, professors who know you personally, and
academic programming that will bring out the
best in you.
Florida Southern offers degree
programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels,
including the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of
Fine Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of
Music, Bachelor of Sacred Music, and Bachelor
of Music Education degrees. In our evening program,
we also offer the M.B.A. and B.S.N. degrees.
We have extended degree programs in Orlando
and Ocala. Here in Lakeland, we have forty-five
different majors--from accounting to sociology,
art to sports management, biology to turf grass
management.
At Florida Southern, we won't
confine you. You will be able to experience
internships, volunteer in the community, participate
in athletics and intramurals, academic and social
organizations, music ensembles, bands and the
orchestra, and take part in theatre productions.
You can join your FSC peers in living your life
as a well-rounded member of society.
