Educators Aerospace Curriculum

The object of the project funded by the Florida Space Grant Consortium, Florida Space Research Institute, and Spaceport Florida Authority is to integrate NASA's Stragetic Plan for Education into the Brevard County School System. The subject content includes Aerospace Technology, Space Science, Human Exploration and Development of Space, Biological and Physical Research and Earth Science. The activities includes hands-on, minds-on activities emphasizing the scientific inquiry, problem solving and group interaction. Sixty teachers in Brevard County and selected teachers in Pinellas County under the direction of the Scientific Coordinator and the Lead Teacher at Stewart Middle Magnet School in Hillsborough County are involved in the project.

As a part of the project, a web site (Educators Aerospace Curriculum) was designed to assist the K-8 classroom teacher in integrating aerospace into their curriculum by using the excitement of the space program to motivate their students as they teach their required subjects. The objective of the project is to utilize NASA's Strategic Plan for Education and implement it into the Florida School System. Subject content includes Aerospace Technology, Space Science, Human Exploration and Development of Space, Biological and Physical Research and Earth Science.
